For many years now we have been debating whether or not technology will change our lives for better or worse; however there’s no denying that it has already had a significant impact on how we travel. From smartphones helping us find directions while driving through unfamiliar neighborhoods to GPS systems guiding us through unfamiliar cities with ease (or even just getting lost), technology has transformed how people get around in recent decades.

The most significant trend in transportation technology today is the rise of autonomous vehicles. Self-driving cars are already on the road, with companies like Uber and Lyft offering rides in them in major cities across the United States and other countries. These vehicles can be electric or gas powered, but they don’t need a human driver because they have sensors that allow them to navigate safely on their own.

Another emerging technology that is reshaping how we travel is ride sharing: services like Uber Pool and Lyft Line allow people who live near each other to share rides together so that fewer cars are needed overall — and fewer carbon emissions result from driving them around! Ride-sharing also has an environmental benefit because it reduces congestion on city streets by taking some cars off the road entirely (since passengers aren’t driving themselves).

Plus, because electric vehicles don’t require gasoline (which is expensive), they’re cheaper on both an upfront cost basis as well as an ongoing maintenance level — and there’s no need for you or your passengers to stop at a gas station during your trip!
